What’s the point of School?

Just started a book by Guy Claxton on ‘rediscovering the heart of education’. The section I’m currently reading is about how real life learning is different from school learning. Guys notes that as authentic learning takes place it is common to see observation, collaboration and questioning. When compared with the piece-meal, individual, graded questions of the classroom it’s easy to see why certain learners are unmotivated.
