Where art thou Mathematics eBook?

October 26, 2010 § 3 Comments

I write in light of this post.  In 2011 our Year 8 students won’t be using physical text books for any of their subjects. Each student will either have a netbook or iPad. We are extensive users of moodle but this is a challenging move for our Mathematics team. We like the look of the eBookPLUS from Jacaranda. This particular eBook contains video tutorials and interactive games. Some of the challenges we are facing include:

How do we best use our learning spaces to assist student learning?

How should we design collaborative projects so that the learning needs of all students are catered for?

What should authentic assessment look like in a student directed and technology rich learning space?

The eBook will be just one of many resources that we use in order to assist our students.
